Brinkley High School’s EAST students found an opportunity to make school guidelines more engaging and relatable by transforming information from the student manual into digital learning videos. Their project focuses on promoting proper behavior, respect, and awareness of school expectations. The first video addresses antibullying, emphasizing how students’ words and actions can affect others and contribute to the overall school environment. Using the student manual as reference, students collaborated in researching, planning, filming, and editing their video. Throughout the process, they applied digital media skills, including camera operation, camera angles, and video-editing techniques using Adobe Premiere, to develop engaging and meaningful content.

The project provides a practical way to communicate important school messages while allowing students to apply technology to address an authentic need within their school community. The completed videos will be displayed on televisions throughout Brinkley High School and incorporated into student orientation. Beyond producing digital content, students are developing valuable skills in research, teamwork, communication, creativity, and video production. The group plans to expand the project by creating additional videos covering school expectations and positive behavior. Through this initiative, EAST students are using their knowledge and technological skills to support a safer, more respectful, and welcoming school environment while demonstrating how student-led projects can create meaningful contributions to their community.
